Value of a Facebook Fan

An interesting and slightly tongue in cheek [I think] way to calculate how much you are worth to Facebook, now it has IPO'd called Val - You.

You enter your basic details [its anonymous] sand some info on how you use Facebook and it calculates your value. I'm not sure accurate it is as it comes up with $1184 for me, which seems a tad high, to say the least.

Shadow QR codes

Seriously awesome use of QR codes by eMart in Korea.
To boost lunchtime sales, the retailer designed a QR code that was only useable when the sun reached a certain point and created the right shadow. Apparently it boosted lunchtime sales by 25%.
Just genius really.

Samsung Genome project: connecting with London 2012 athletes

The Samsung Genome project is a really nifty use of social media. Via Facebook, it enables you to see what you have in common with Team USA Olympic athletes.

You answer questions, use your interests in your Facebook profile to see if you and one of the US athletes like the same movies etc.

It's also got some nice gamification elements enabling you to earn tokens via quizzes, inviting friends, and redeem them in Facebook Marketplace.

I like this because it uses social media to amplify a reasonably straight forward sports sponsorship while engaging people in the brand and building a community.
